Windscreen frames

A front or rear windscreen frame for a train or metro is a demanding part to produce: variable geometry, tight tolerances on the glazing seating plan, sealing and impact resistance requirements, and welding distortion to control on curved profiles. A poorly controlled part is paid for in workshop rework and in late trainset delivery.

The MECAWA difference

Controlled bending, and engineered welding sequence, dedicated jigs and drilling, systematic dimensional inspection and archived inspection records : the frame is delivered to drawing and to its tolerances, ready to receive the glazing. Our EN15085 CL1 certification covers highly stressed welded joints and the associated welding coordination responsibilities
